Education for Ministry

Education for Ministry, affectionately known as EFM, is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South. Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. Students meet regularly, on a weekly basis, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors. EFM covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy, and theology. Additionally, each seminar includes worship and a Theological Reflection, which is at heart of EFM. The program grants a certificate at the completion of the four years and offers 18 Continuing Education Units for each year's work.

Here at St. Mark's, EFM is mentored by Norm Peterson and The Reverend Jim Stewart and meets on Tuesday evenings from September through May. Annual tuition is currently $350.00 and the Diocese of Wyoming offers grant assistance to help students meet this cost.
